SUMMER ART CAMP 2025

Summer Art Camp 2025 is a 3-day-a-week, full-day (9:30 - 14:30) program. A unique opportunity for kids to indulge, explore, and expand their love of art and craft. With weekly themes, the kids make about 3 structured art projects and can participate in a variety of hands-on projects that allow for experimentation with the concepts, techniques and supplies. We value the way children interpret these projects in their own ways and encourage a mixed-age group as younger and older children can learn so much from working side by side and collaboratively on projects. Come explore, imagine and create!

* Camps are targeted towards 4 - 12 year olds unless specified. Students older than 12 years old may join camps as well.
* Capacity: approx. 14 students

* What to bring: a smock/apron or dress for mess, drink, lunch (nut-free)

Ten4 Art Studioのサマーアートキャンプでは3日間（9:30am - 2:30pm) を通して毎週違ったテーマの中で子供たちが自分で考える力と創造力を伸ばし、自由な表現をできるようなキャンプ内容と環境をご用意しています。アトリエでは、大きいお子さんも小さいお子さんもお互い刺激し合えるような場所にしたいと思っています。今年もアートとものづくりを通して思いっきり夏を一緒に満喫しましょう。

* 対象年齢4 - 12歳（12歳以上でも参加可能ですのでご相談ください）＊5歳〜の場合は記載されてます

* 記載されている作品などは変更する場合があるのでご了承ください
* 持ち物：スモック・エプロン（汚れてもいい洋服）、飲み物、お弁当（ナッツ類を除く）をご持参ください

CANCELLATION POLICY | キャンセル規定：

Students who withdraw their application from the program are eligible for a 50% refund up until 14 days prior to the camp. Cancellations made within 14 days of the camp start date are NONREFUNDABLE.

キャンプ開始14日前までのキャンセルの場合は、キャンセル料が50%になります。14日前から当日以降のキャンセルはご返金をいたしません。

BE MY CHEF!

This week is all about Food Art Masterpieces! Come create your own food themed artworks using various mediums such as paint, pastels, graphite, clay, wire and papier-mache. We will refer to artists such Claes Oldenburg, Lucy Sparrow, Wayne Thiebaud, and Giuseppe Arcimboldo, to create a large scale sculpture, a still life drawing and painting and a fun food creature that might come to life! Bon appetit!

はらぺこキッズあつまれ～！この週のテーマは『食-Food-』。ワイヤーや紙粘土、紙を切り貼りして立体的な作品を造り上げます。そして絵の具やパステル、様々な画材を使って食べ物をテーマとした平面の絵画作品を仕上げます。ジュゼッペ・アルチンボルド、ウェイン・ティーボー、やクレス・オルデンバーグのように食べ物を題材にしてる作家さんを参考に、スケールの大きい食べ物、今にも動き出しそうなおもしろい食べ物も作ってみよう！

WEEK 2: 7/22 - 7/24 (Tues - Thur) 9:30 - 14:30

FROM POP ART TO ABSTRACT ART

Young artists will explore color, space, value, form, texture, lines and shape through expression of abstract, realistic and pop art. While taking inspiration from artists such as Andy Warhol, Oga Kazuo and Giorgio Morandi, students will experiment with a variety of painting techniques, tools and materials. Students will mix up their own paints, work with different mediums like watercolors, acrylics, tempera, pastels and graphite, and apply paint using traditional and non-traditional tools on a variety of surfaces. Students will create a Warhol-inspired printed portrait, a watercolor landscape painting, and abstract pieces.

色、空間、質感や形状を抽象画、写実画、ポップアートの表現を通して学びます。アンディ・ウォーホルを参考にプリント技法を使った自画像、ジブリ水彩画作家の男鹿和雄のような水彩風景画、他に静物画や抽象的の作品などに挑戦します。制作を通して、色合いや基礎テクニックを楽しく探求します。自分で色を混ぜたり実際に体験し、観察しながらアートに触れてみよう！

WEEK 3: 8/5 - 8/7 (Tues - Thur) 9:30 - 14:30

WORLD OF MINECRAFT

Get ready to create your original Minecraft inspired world with unique characters and biomes and bring them to life! Let’s design and build a miniature diorama using pixelated cubes and shapes to create a landscape that will invite endless imaginative play. Think about design elements, build furniture, create props and characters and more, while incorporating mixed-media, such as clay, wood, paper, cardboard, and wire to build your imaginative world. This workshop blends imagination, engineering, and artistic expression as kids explore the world of Minecraft. Even if you’re not a Minecraft fan, come in to build a diorama of your choice.

マイクラの世界へようこそ！自分だけのオリジナル生物たちに命を吹き込もう！ピクセル型の立体を使ってミニチュアのジオラマ世界を造り上げよう。紙粘土、木材、厚紙、段ボールやワイヤーなど、色々な素材を使って家具を組み立てたり、雑貨やキャラクターを作成します。マインクラフトの世界を楽しみながら想像力、技術力を養いアートに触れられるワークショップです。

WEEK 4: 8/12 - 8/14 (Tues - Thur) 9:30 - 14:30

PAINT BEAT LAB

Play, explore, and create. Unleash your inner artist in you! If you love to get messy and try new ways of using materials and tools, this one is for you. We'll experiment with all sorts of cool art techniques creating paintings, printings, and tie-dye too! This class will focus on the use of colors, liquids, textures, materials, and mediums to create process-based artworks, such as a Jackson Pollock inspired splatter painting, a tie-dye artwork, marbling and more. Let’s splatter, swirl, squeeze, scrape, and drip, and express our emotions and moods through art, while listening to music and sounds, like Paul Klee and Vassily Kandinsky who were both inspired by music. Come enjoy the fun!

自分の中にいるアーティストを呼び起こそう！ジャクソン・ポロックのように全身を動かしながら絵の具を飛ばしたり、バケツから垂らしたり、スプレーしてみたり、ダイナミックにアートに触れたいならこのプログラムがぴったり！タイダイ染などのテクニックも学べます。たくさんの色、様々な素材を使用、そして音を聞きながら感じるままにリズムに乗って五感を使ってプロセスアートを楽しもう！

WEEK 5: 8/18 - 8/20 (Mon - Wed) 9:30 - 14:30 [Ages 5 - 12+]

DESIGN + ARCHITECTURE

We’ll plan, construct and create this week as we discover the intersections between art and architecture. From 2D design and sketches, models to products, let’s explore various materials such as wood, clay, wire, cardboard and upcycled supplies, and build your problem solving skills using hands-on activities. Let’s look at architects and sculptors for inspiration, such as Alvar Aalto, Frank Gehry, Zaha Hadid and Tara Donovan, to help make your own ideas come to life! Let’s think about structures, various attachment methods and techniques and make something both productive and aesthetically pleasing. Projects include a cardboard chair that you could actually use, a clock, unique lighting source or statement jewelry using everyday objects. Be creative and be ready to put on your thinking caps!

この週のテーマはアートと建築の融合！自分のアイデアをスケッチして、粘土、ワイヤー、ダンボールなど、様々な材料を使いながら実際使えるプロダクトを作ります。作品を造る過程では構造の問題や重力などについて考える機会もあり、解決方法を自分たちで試行錯誤し、問題解決能力を養いながら作品を造り上げます。アルヴァ・アアルト、フランク・ゲーリー、ザハ・ハディド、などの建築家や彫刻家からヒントを得て、自分のアイデアを形にしよう！
